In January 2016, Mastro made her debut at the home stage of the World Cup in Mammoth and at the first attempt became the bronze medalist, losing only to two compatriots Kelly Clark and Chloe Kim. On February 6, at the stage in Park City, Maddy became the second, passing only Kim ahead of herself. In the same 2016, Mastro took part in the X Games for the first time. In Aspen, Maddie became only the 7th, and in Oslo she showed the 4th result. In March 2017, Maddy made her debut at the Adult World Championship in the Spanish Sierra Nevada. At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, Maddy successfully overcame the qualifying round of the halfpipe competition, showing the 4th result. The final round of the competition was very unfortunate for Mastro. In all three attempts, Maddie fell at the very beginning of the performance, as a result of which the highest score for the athlete was 14 points earned for the first descent. With this result, Mastro took 12th place, closing the final table of the final.
